Natural Jet Black Granite and Bansi Paharpur Pink Sandstone are the two best stones for outdoor entrance name plates in India. Jet Black Granite has a Mohs hardness of 6.5 to 7 and zero porosity, creating maximum visual contrast against 24K gold foil or white engraved letters with zero fading under 48°C summer sun and torrential monsoon rain. Bansi Paharpur sandstone is ideal for heritage and contemporary earthy facades, providing an authentic palatial texture that never warps or deteriorates.
According to Vastu Shastra, an entrance name plate should be mounted on the right side of the main door (when looking from outside) at eye level (around 5 to 5.5 feet above finished ground level). Stone name plates are fixed using concealed rear stainless steel studs and high-strength construction poly-epoxy. On site, matching holes are drilled into the stone, brick, or concrete pillar, injected with structural epoxy, and the name plate is pressed flush against the surface.
