Natural marble is calcium-based and susceptible to acidic etching from lemon juice, vinegar, alcohol, and turmeric if left unprotected. At Shree Ram & Company, every marble table top undergoes a multi-layer deep-penetrating nano-sealing treatment prior to dispatch. This food-grade fluorochemical barrier penetrates into the micro-pores of the stone, repelling liquids without altering the stone's natural color or cool silky touch. For daily maintenance, spills should be blotted with a damp microfiber cloth, and hot pans should be placed on coasters or trivets.
A standard 20mm thick solid marble table top weighs approximately 55 kg per square meter (around 110 kg for a 6-seater dining table), while a 30mm slab weighs nearly 85 kg/m². Supporting bases—whether fabricated from solid teakwood, cast brass, stainless steel, or carved stone pedestals—must feature an intermediate sub-base (such as a 19mm marine-grade plywood or steel perimeter frame) that distributes dead weight evenly and prevents stress concentration along the marble center.

Marble slabs are highly rigid but vulnerable to bending during transit. We package each tabletop inside a custom-built, ISPM-15 export-compliant wooden A-frame crate. The marble is wrapped in multi-layer EPE foam, corner-cushioned with impact-absorbing blocks, and strapped vertically on edge—the only structurally safe orientation for transporting natural stone slabs. We provide fully insured door-to-door transit across all Indian metro cities.
