According to Vastu Shastra, the ideal location for a pooja room is the Northeast corner (Ishanya Kona) of the home, as it is believed to be the entry point for positive cosmic energy. Alternative acceptable directions are East or North. The deities should face West or East, allowing the person praying to face East or North. The idol pedestal (asana) should be elevated so the deities are positioned between navel and chest level of the devotee. Pooja rooms must never be placed adjacent to, above, or below a toilet, nor under a staircase. At Shree Ram & Company, our Jaipur design atelier creates turnkey CAD floorplans and 3D renders that honor every Vastu mandate while integrating harmoniously into modern luxury apartment and villa layouts.
Backlit stone backdrops utilize precision-calibrated translucent natural stone slabs—typically 8mm to 12mm thick Makrana Albeta marble or Honey Onyx. The panels are mounted on a lightweight concealed aluminum frame set 2 to 3 inches away from the structural wall. Behind the stone, an array of high-CRI (90+), 3000K warm white diffused LED light sheets is installed with dedicated heat dissipation and replaceable dimmable drivers. The stone panels are precision-cut with laser or 5-axis CNC diamond bits, polished with a satin honed finish that prevents glare, and sealed with breathable fluoropolymer protectors to prevent heat discoloration.
Natural Makrana white marble has exceptionally low porosity, but daily pooja rituals involving burning oil diyas, incense smoke (dhoop), turmeric (haldi), and vermillion (kumkum) require mindful care. For daily upkeep, wipe stone surfaces with a clean microfiber cloth dampened with lukewarm water or neutral pH stone cleanser. Never use acidic household cleaners, lemon juice, or vinegar, which etch marble surfaces. For stubborn oil marks around the diya tray, apply a baking soda and water poultice paste overnight to draw the oil out of the stone matrix without scratching. Shree Ram & Company pre-treats all pooja room marble with oleophobic penetrating sealants that repel both water- and oil-based substances.
The turnkey cost of a luxury handcrafted marble pooja room typically ranges from ₹1,20,000 to ₹18,00,000+ depending on room dimensions, marble selection, and architectural inclusions. A compact dedicated mandir niche with carved Makrana marble wall panels, pillars, and drawer base ranges from ₹1,20,000 to ₹3,50,000. Full-room bespoke pooja sanctuaries—featuring floor-to-ceiling carved marble cladding, backlit onyx deity backdrops, intricate floral jali partition doors, and carved ceiling domes—range from ₹4,50,000 to ₹18,00,000+. All projects include 3D CAD modeling, custom fabrication in our Jaipur workshop, secure crating, and insured white-glove site delivery.
