Yes, HDMR is one of the most popular and versatile materials for interior pooja room doors and living room dividers. Because of its dense uniform matrix (>850 kg/m³), it can be intricately routed into sacred Om, Swastika, Lotus, and traditional Indian lattice designs without splintering. When finished with a high-quality PU coating or metallic brass/gold leafing, HDMR jali creates a luxurious, warm architectural screen that complements both modern and traditional home decor.
To ensure a smooth, professional finish on intricate CNC-cut jalis, proper surface preparation is critical. First, routed edges are hand-sanded with 220-grit paper to remove any residual micro-fibers. A high-penetrating PU or polyurethane wood sealer is sprayed to seal the porous cut edges, followed by two coats of high-build PU surfacer primer. After fine sanding to 400-grit, automotive-grade PU paint (Duco or Polyurethane) is spray-applied in thin, uniform coats to prevent paint pooling inside small lattice perforations.
For freestanding or floor-to-ceiling room partition screens, 18mm or 25mm thickness is strongly recommended. Thin 8mm–12mm boards lack structural rigidity over tall spans (above 6 feet) and will flex or bow under air pressure or incidental contact. For screens taller than 7 feet, we fabricate a solid 25mm to 35mm thick outer boundary frame with internal 18mm jali fretwork to ensure absolute vertical stability.
Custom CNC cut HDMR jali typically ranges from Rs 180 to Rs 550 per square foot. Plain raw CNC cut 12mm–18mm HDMR sheets range from Rs 180 to Rs 320 per sq ft. Fully factory-painted jali panels—including dual-coat PU primer, sanding, and metallic or solid PU topcoat with perimeter groove framing—range from Rs 450 to Rs 750 per sq ft, depending on pattern intricacy and sheet thickness.
